XRays are walk-in. All other orders (CT, MRI, Mammogram, Ultrasound, PET CT) require calling the imaging center and making an appointment.

VRI will always bill your insurance company first. Once the insurance company pays its share, it will direct VRI to bill you for the remainder, if any. Prior authorizations-certain image studies, such as MRI, may require prior authorizations. VRI will be responsible for contacting your insurance company and obtaining prior authorizations, if necessary.

On El Camino Hospital’s MyCare, typically 5-7 days after the imaging study is done. Dr. Dang will review and comment on the lab results typically within 7-9 days after the imaging study is done.

Yes, contact VRI and they can copy the images onto a CD. The front desk cannot call on behalf of patients for this.

More importantly, orders can be sent digitally and results are digitally sent back to your doctor on EPIC EHR, which allows for collaborative viewing of reports of important imaging studies across the major healthcare systems of the Bay Area (including Stanford, Kaiser, Sutter, Valley Health, etc).
